My latest standalone TTRPG, Ballad Hunters, goes live on Kickstarter on March 17th! Ballad Hunters is a game about singing and fighting magical folk ballads in 1813 England and Scotland. Across Britain, the folk ballads of the common people are coming to life. The dead walk, dragons rise, lovers betray one another, authorities condemn innocents to die — whatever happens in the song happens in real life.
In Ballad Hunters, you play amateur folklorists working as agents of the Crown. It’s up to you, armed with a little ballad magic, to decipher the clues in each song and keep people alive long enough to change the ending.
This is a tabletop roleplaying game about interpretation, anticipation, and pushing back against fate using the words of the song itself.
